Adam is the director of ashtanga oakland and a devoted student of yoga since 1996. He is teaching apprentice to one of the world’s most respected senior teachers, Dena Kingsberg (including thousands of hours of formal training as a teacher). He practices the full first, second, and third series of the ashtanga vinyasa methodology, and has a devotional and inclusive approach to his teaching that leaves no room for unquestioned dogma. He considers the natural/more-than-human world to be the ultimate and greatest teacher, and works in prisons and corporations teaching connection-focused practices and governance for social rehabilitation and resilience. He has masters in business administration with an undergraduate degree in Literary Studies and Critical Theory. He practices seventh series (life!) with his wife Mercedes, who brightens his life and the mysore room when she assists or practices with the communtiy.

Deb has been a student of yoga since 1997. She started teaching in 2000 and fell in love with Mysore Ashtanga in 2002 when she traveled to India to study with Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois. She has been inspired and influenced by many teachers including David Swenson, Richard Freeman, and Magnolia Zuniga. Over the past 7 years Deborah has been teaching at Twitter SF and ran their yoga and meditation program. She has been a contributing writer for Yoga Journal Magazine and she teaches at the Yoga Journal Live conferences. She is a student of the Yoga Sutras and has been studying them since 2010 with Kate Holcombe in the linage of Mr. TKV Desikachar. She continues to be in awe on how deeply relevant and practical this 2000 year old text is in her daily life.
